Irish Academy of Management Main Conference Tracks
Work, Employment and Organisation
The Work, Employment and Organisation track offers new scholarly insights into contemporary issues in work and employment. It explores how work and organisations are being reshaped by changing economic, technological, social and institutional conditions, with particular attention to the evolving nature of employment relationships and organisational practices. Contributions address challenges and opportunities arising from developments such as the future of work, new forms of working and organising, workforce change, job quality and well-being, equality and inclusion, and the regulation and governance of work. The track chairs are Dr. Jonathan Lavelle (UL) and Dr. Lorraine Ryan (UL).
Strategy and International Business
The Strategy and International Business track offers a forum for scholars to debate contemporary trends and share insights on strategic and international management challenges facing organisations operating in increasingly complex and competitive environments. The track welcomes research that examines strategy formulation and implementation, competitive dynamics, and organisational responses to globalisation, technological change and shifting institutional conditions. Contributions address issues such as changing organisational boundaries, international markets and industries affected by new competitive forces, evolving sources of competitive advantage, and the growing pressures on organisations and managers for accountability, transparency and responsible decision-making. The track chairs are Dr. John McCarthy (MIC) and Dr Donal O’Brien (TUD).
Management Knowledge & Education (Teaching & Learning)
The Management Knowledge and Education track provides a forum for scholars to explore a broad range of issues related to management education and the creation, development and dissemination of management knowledge. The track welcomes research addressing teaching and learning in higher education, curriculum design and assessment, student engagement, and the pedagogical challenges associated with preparing future management graduates. Contributions may examine innovative and evidence-based approaches to management education, including the use of digital technologies, experiential and practice-based learning, inclusive teaching practices, and academic integrity. The track also encourages reflection on the changing nature of management knowledge, the role of educators and institutions in shaping learning experiences, and the skills and capabilities required by graduates in a dynamic and uncertain world. The track chairs are Dr. Caoilfhionn Ni Bheachain (UL) and Dr. John Walsh (UL).
Sustainability & Responsible Management
The Sustainability and Responsible Management track explores the role of business and management in addressing social, environmental, and ethical challenges in contemporary organisational and market contexts. Rather than treating responsibility as the attribute of individual firms alone, the track welcomes research that examines how responsible management is constructed, negotiated, and performed across networks of actors, markets, institutions, and infrastructures, and how responsibility often emerges as an outcome of organising processes. The track invites contributions that advance understanding of responsible management practices, sustainability strategies, and the systems, relationships, and mechanisms through which more ethical and sustainable forms of organising are enabled, constrained, or reconfigured. Research may examine issues such as corporate social responsibility, business ethics, sustainability transitions, environmental management, stakeholder engagement, and the social and institutional responsibilities of organisations, with attention to how responsibility is distributed across value chains, platforms, governance arrangements, and socio-technical systems.
The track chair is Dr. Annmarie Ryan (UL) and Erin King (UL).

It explores themes such as entrepreneurial ecosystems, innovation processes, business model development, SME growth and resilience, and the evolving role of entrepreneurship in shaping the future of work and markets.
